The Unity class ships are not equipped with hyperdrives, crew quarters or cargo space, and are not capable of spending more than two days outside of their host ship. Because of this, the designers at Guruk System Yards have been able to cram massive amounts of weaponry into the Unity ships, enabling them to fight ships far larger than themselves, including hostile Victory and Imperial SDs and Yaeger Destroyers. In addition, Unity Warships are quite agile in both space and atmospheric conditions, and are often used as pursuit craft if targets retreat out of the reach of larger ships. Some Unity class ships have been designated as Planetary defence ships, and are launched from surface bases or orbital defence platforms, using this atmospheric power to great effect. However, because of this overloading of weapons and shield systems, Unity ships are prone to chain reactions and violent magazine explosions, particularly if the heavy proton torpedo tubes are destroyed (if a weapon destroyed roll comes up, roll 1D additional damage for the quad lasers, 3D additional damage for the turbolasers, and 5D for the torpedoes. If weapon destroyed comes up again, repeat.), and this weakness has lead Rulduk to postpone production on the majority of the Unity class ships commissioned, though his engineers are still working on the parasite warship concept.
