These massive ships were the backbone of one of the earliest pre-republic empires. Far larger than any of it's contemporaries, the Ultimate dreadnoughts were capable of destroying opposing cruisers with a single shot from it's lasers or heavy cannons. These very powerful weapons couldn't lock on starfighters, and the ship was therefore fitted with it's large numbers of light cannons and torpedo tubes, and they would always fly with large fighter compliments. The Ryeh Imperium fielded 300 of these ships at it's height, and nearly twice as many slightly smaller Invincible class dreadnoughts. After it's fall, almost all of these ships went from warlord to warlord, and many wound up in the fleet of the fledgling New Republic, though they weren't quite the ultimate war machines that they once were, at that time. There are relatively few uses for a Ultimate dreadnought in modern times, though many of it's parts still command high prices. The hand tooled cannons, the gold and duridium detail work, the opulent captains's quarters and other items are particularly valuable, but even the refined titanium/carbon alloy hull is worth quite a bit. The value of a Ultimate Dreadnought in good condition to a collector would be quite high, assuming that a collector could be found that is interested in Capital scale ships.
