I designed this ship for resue operations conducted by NR specforce infiltration teams. It was created with the second edition rules. Craft: "Liberator" Rescue Ship Type: Rescue/Infiltration Craft Scale: Space Transports Length: 15m Skill: Space Transports Op. - Liberator Crew: 2 Cost: 200,000 Crew Skill: gunnery 4d, piloting 4d+2, sensors 5d Passengers: 3 Cargo Capacity: 2.5tons Consumables: 1 month Hyperdrive Multiplier: x1 Hyperdrive Backup: x10 Nav Computer: Yes Manuverability: 3d Space: 9 Atmosphere Speed: 195;560 Hull: 2d+1 Shields: 2d+2 Sensors: Passive: 50/1d Scan: 75/2d Search: 100/3d Focus: 10/4d Weapons: 2 Heavy Extended Range Ion Cannons (linked or seperate) Fire Arc: Left/Right Turret Crew: 1 Skill: Starfighter Gunnery Scale: Starfighter Range: 1-5/10/40 Atmosphere Range: 100-500/1K/4K Fire Control: 4d Damage: 4d 1 Proton Torpedo Launcher Fire Arc: Front Crew: 1 Skill: Starfighter Gunnery Scale: Starfighter Range: 1/3/7 Atmosphere Range: 50-100/300/700 Fire Control: 2d Damage: 9d Additional Notes Sensor Jammer-+1d to sensor difficulty to identify, -2d sensor diff to detect general area. Targeting Jammer--2d from opponent's fire control. Blending Shields-simmilar to that of the Skyblind(see GG scouts). When activated, it is nearly impossible to visually locate the ship. Additionally, it provides a +2d+2 to all sensor difficulty rolls to detect. While activated, the ship must travel at maximum space speed of 4, all weapons must be off line, and no sensors except passive with a control of 0d may be used. Sensor Decoys-the ship is equipped with three of these specially modified decoys: One is eqipped with a sensor jammer and a space of 5. One is equipped with a light blaster cannon(1d,1d skill of 3d) and a space of 3. One gives off a damaged signal. It moves at a space of 4, and has a false life sign reading. When a ship comes within three units, a proton mine is triggered, doing 10d damage. Capsule This ship was originally designed by the New Republic for rescue missions. The idea was that the Liberator would be able to sneak behind enemy lines and sneak back out without being noticed. If it was noticed, it was properly equipped to temporarily disable and then run. It is eqipped with long range sensors in the hope that it could find trouble before trouble could find it and have extra time to prepare. A common tactic would be to release one or more of the decoys to distract the enemy while the liberator could quietly slip away. Thus far, a limited number have have been made. Nevertheless, several models have fallen into the hands of certain corporate and fringe elements and have been found to lend themselves nicely to less noble tasks.
