From the factory, these ship come in a rich midnight blue. The paint itself is designed to minimize reflection of sensor rays, and most Shrouds are usually found in that color. The shape of the ship and it's various passive counter-measures make the Shroud very difficult to detect by sensors of all forms. It adds a +3D to the difficult of sensor detection checks, and unless the opponent makes a difficult sensor roll, it subtracts 2D from the fire control of enemy weapons, as it jams targeting sensors as well as all others. Shrouds are equipped with high powered repulsorlifts, that give them their phenomenal atmospheric movement rate, when used in conjunction with the Ion Drives. When the Ion drives are disengaged, it travels at 350; 1000, but it's moves in eerie silence, enabling it to travel within several meters of opposing troops without being detected. Due to the already high price of the Shroud's technology, CarnShips added on a number of extras, to make the Shroud a rather luxurious ship, giving their customers the feeling that they are getting good value for their money. The interior is primarily velvet, leather, fine woods, and concealed control panels. Interior lockers open and close smoothly and quietly, and are virtually undetectable against the background. For those that can afford it, the Shroud is an ideal ship, and is quite popular among members of various criminal organizations.
