Designed with the needs of independent operators in mind, the Scorpio intentionally incorporates parts that are compatible with those of many New Republic and Imperial ships, making replacements easy to find. In addition, WrathTech is known not to be aligned with either side, so no conclusions of rebel or imperial leanings can be inferred from the choice of a Scorpio fighter. In form, the Scorpio is a small and wide ship, with three short wings protruding from the body of the ship. Each of these wings mounts a laser cannon on the front, which are very similar to the X-Wing's cannons, and an Ion engine in the rear, whose design approximates those of the TIE/In. The two Ion cannons, taken from the Y-Wing and hooked to a more sophisticated targeting system, are mounted directly below the cockpit. The Scorpio can use either a R-2 or an R-7 Droid, or indeed just about any astromech droid. The Scorpio is designed for easy and effective modification, (ad 1D+2 to relevant skill check), with several systems being particularly modular. The Hyperdrive can be removed, and replaced with another Ion drive, or an Ion and Repulsorlift drive for atmospheric combat. The astromech mounting is easily converted into a gun turret for further non-hyper specialization, and the Ion cannons are mounted in such a way that they can be replaced by just about any type of missile or torpedo hardpoint. WrathTech is happy to perform these modifications in factory for a minimal charge. Other modifications are possible, as the powerplants (supported by the TIE type solar panels that cover the wings) are capable of producing a good deal more power that the ship normally requires, but are left for the buyer to attempt. WrathTech is working on producing a totally atmospherically maximized version of the Scorpio (project name TCR-44b1), but that has yet to be released.
