The most important weapon, and the only reason for building this vessel, is a spine-mounted superlaser modeled on the main weapon of the Death Star itself. The beam does not pack enough destructive power to shatter planets, but it is capable of destroying large ships with a single shot. The penalty for mounting such a large weapon was the nearly complete removal of all ground assault capabilites, but it does not matter since this vessel was not intended to be used like a normal Imperial-class SD. A standard Imperial-class vessel usually carries combat craft, shuttles, repair and recovery vehicles, landing barges, drop ships, ground assault vehicles, and pre-fabricated garrison bases for immediate deployment, but practically all of this had to be removed and only a token force of two TIE fighter squadrons remains together with some personnel shuttles to facilitate transport. The only known vessel of this class include: Broadside Game Terms: The Superlaser has a gradational output and can fire once every hour at minimum energy (1D damage). It can also build up a charge of 1D per hour up to 3D. Current reactor can only generate 4D total per day.
