Operators on the station can open channels in the well, to allow ship traffic through. Capsule: The Guardian series traffic control stations are a new application of the gravity well projector, developed by the Imperial Navy. Rendili StarDrive, designers of the Victory Class Star Destroyer, has developed a mobile station around a powerful projector and the result was a new layer of traffic control for already overburdened starport controllers! No longer are thoughtless tramp freighter captains able to recklessly jump in and out of system, endangering the lives of ordinary law abiding citizens in the name of cargo. How does the Guardian do this? The Guardian Control Station creates an artificial "mass shadow" that *gently* drops any ship into real space. Where it is hailed, by the station and assigned a position for entry into the system. After only a minimal wait, the ship is cleared and enters a "hyperspace corridor" in the field; to arrive at its destination safe, and secure in the knowledge that no unpleasant surprises would be found in its in-system journey. The Guardian Control Station is only one part of the complete Guardian Control System. As good as the Guardian Control Station is, a single station cannot protect an entire star system. However, by purchasing other Guardian Stations and linking them together--Linkage software extra--You can provide a wall of protection and safety from Rebels and pirates around your planet, station, or even your entire system! Its up to you. The Guardian can also be a part of your customs service. Which would you rather have: a customs check that reveals a pirate ship right next to a few helpless docked passenger liners or that same check Light Hours from any civilians that could get in the line of fire. For those worried that this system prevents Imperial Navy Forces from responding quickly to any in-systems emergencies, you couldn't be more wrong. The Guardian is programmed to automatically open a corridor to any recognized Navy ship. As far as defensive capabilities, the Guardian is comparable to many military stations. With Turbolasers, Ion cannons, the most powerful shields legally allowed for civilian use, and a sensor system more powerful then some military ships the Guardian can defend itself until real warships arrive. The Guardian System also saves lives. During a recent ambush by Rebel terrorists on an unarmed civilian convoy, the terrorist were prevented from escape by the activation of a recently purchased Guardian. If only that star system had purchased it sooner, perhaps that horrible attack would not have even occurred. Given these facts, can you *not* afford to buy the Guardian. Safe, Secure, Reliable, Rendili. (tm) Game Notes: The Guardian has, so far, only been deployed around major military shipyards/deepdocks/fleet staging areas. No planetary systems have yet purchased one.(contrary to Rendili ads) The system has not yet been fully tested on a system wide basis. Despite Rendili's insistence, small holes or gaps do appear in a system-wide well. These gaps are large enough for a space transport to fit through. The number needed to create a solid well around a system is left to the judge's decision. Yours..
