Almost no expense was spared in making the Sunjammer as affordable, comfortable, and usable as it could possibly be. The only flaw is the lack of sensor probing dampeners. And the matter that the ship's weapons rating and power output rating are marginally illegal. Anyway... The Sunjammer utilizes a Matter/Antimatter Power core. YubYadub has perfected the technique of using m/am as a cheap power source, and he's years ahead of the big corporations. YubYadub's power source is cheaper than standard cold fusion reactors, actually SAFER, and is much more effective. As a result of using m/am, a lot of interior space is cleared up, more power is available to weapons, shields, and engines. Also, a separate dedicated power source is no longer needed for shields or weapons. Again, The main drawback of the matter/antimatter power core is the HUGE power output signal. Let the buyer beware, many patrol ships will check out power signals this large. If adequate sensor jamming systems are not installed on the ship, the Sunjammer will show up on sensors like grape juice on a white shirt. Don't ever expect the sunjammer to be stealthy, unless you remove the m/am power core, and power it using coal or steam, or something. Other ships' sensors will pick up the Sunjammer at double the normal ranges. (i.e., if a ship's passive sensors were 35, the sunjammer would show up on their scopes at 70) As a test, YubYadub installed capital ship scale shields on these hummers, and got a rather foolhardy unidentified friend of his to test them out... "Ah figger'd, ah maht as well take these har ships to da limit.. I heerd dat dere was dis Star Destroyer neerbah... And I got's dis _really_ stupid friend o'mine -- he's a swell guy, tho. Always dere to help a feller out in a pickle -- so I puts deze here experimental-type full coverage capital ship shields. (Blasted thang sucks up two-thards of da cargo hold, but that's whatcha get fer virtual capitle shiyup shaylds). And so dis guy, he charges outta hyperspace, blastin his lazer cannons at da bridge of dis Star Dee-stroyer, and their shots is bouncin off him like peas offen a garage. Right nearly blasted its power towers, he did... But ya know, attackin one o'dem Star Dee-stroyers nulls mah warnty..." For the standard weapons package, the ion cannon is the primary weapon, for those humanitarians out there (or pirates). For a 10000cr surcharge, the placements of the ion cannon and quad turret can be switched. (at time of order only) The quad turret is the YubYadub Arms, co. "Defender" Quad Repeating Turret. One of the valuable features of the Sunjammer is its primary reliance on armor for defence, as opposed to shields. YubYadub chose to do this because it made upgrading the ship easier. For more space rating, tweak the engines, or buy new ones. For more shields, buy (or steal) better shields. None of this will affect the maneuverability or cargo capacity of the ship (!) To make the ship more homey, yubyadub covered the interior with paneling, indirect lighting, comfortable chairs in the bridge, nice mattresses in the bunks, nice furniture in the sleeping quarters, and so on. YubYadub did this because "Ah know what it is to sleep in one o'dem Stack Light Frayders... Less fun than a swan dive into a sand pool...) Due to huge amount of power available to engines, can carry up to 200 mtons, but increase chance of mishap by +1. (ship can carry heavier cargo. NOT more space, though...) The cargo space is divided into three sections. One of them can be devoted to passenger use, reducing the cargo cap. by 50 tons, but allowing up to fifteen more passengers. Installing capital ship shields takes up to 100 mtons worth of space.
