Albert was the computer system destined to run the Pern system in the 
Deneb Sector. Before be could be installed the series was taken off line. 
A minor smuggler acquired him as pay off form an official's to safeguard the 
official's position. He was installed to run the smugglers ship and for 
200 years did so for this smuggler until the smuggler fell foul of a 
dark sun Blaster bat and was killed in a shoot out. Albert just took 
off and hired someone to front for him. While in the background he ran 
all the deals through his front man and a collection of phoney identities.
